Full Professor of Computer Science, Fellow at The University of Tokyo, RCAST - Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (JAPAN). Fellow of JSPS (Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science, JAPAN). Director of the Complex Systems & Artificial Intelligence Studies and Research Center, and of the Artificial Intelligence Lab of the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication. Director of the Milano-Bicocca CINI Nodes "Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Systems" and "Assisted Technologies". Chair of the Working Group "Artificial Ingelligence for an Ageing Society" of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence. Research Activity: Artificial Intelligence (Knowledge Representation, Engineering and Management); Artificial Intelligence and Complex Discrete Dynamical Systems (Cellular Automata, Multi-agent Systems) focused on the modeling and simulation of collective intelligence phenomena and dynamical properties of crowd and pedestrians. She was/is Principal Investigator of several research and application national and international projects. Her most recent research interest is focused on AI and emotional collective behaviors.
