Saurabh Kumar
Deputy Chief of Mission | Ambasciata dell'IndiaSaurabh Kumar, an engineering graduate from IIT, Kanpur, joined the Indian Foreign Service in August 1989. He served as Second Secretary in the High Commission of India, Hong Kong, from 1991-93. At headquarters in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, he worked as Under Secretary (China) and then Under Secretary (Pakistan) from 1993-98. Saurabh Kumar served in Indonesia during the period of the Southeast Asian economic crisis as First Secretary responsible for economic and commercial matters from 1998-2001. He subsequently served in Fiji Islands as Counsellor from 2001-04. On return to Delhi, he took up the charge of Director (China) from 2004-07. Thereafter he served in Beijing as Deputy Chief of Mission from 2007-08. He is in Rome since 2008. Saurabh Kumar was born on January 1, 1966. He is married to Smriti Srivastava, a qualified school teacher. They have two daughters.
